The Karnataka governor Hansaraj Bharadwaj in the presence of Smt. Parvathamma Rajakumar flagged off the brainchild of veteran KSL Swamee Sanskrit film ‘Prabhodha Chandrodayam’ at Shanker Mutt in Shankarapuram in Bangalore on Sunday morning.

This is the 100 minutes 100 lakhs Sanskrit film of KSL Swamee on the 64 ‘Qualities’ enlightened in the play written by late Sri Krishna Yathimishra of the 11 century.

For this Sanskrit film based on book that contains ‘Sugunas and Durgunas’ KSL Swamee has sought the assistance of Prof AR Mitra, Prof Mallepuram G Venkatesh and Dr RN Nagaraj of Infosys.

The ‘Geetha Padya’ of Sri Krishna Yathimishra will be sung by Dr KJ Yesudas, Rajesh Krishnan and others in the music direction of Pravin Godkindi, GS Bhasker the veteran is the cameraman and Suresh Urs will be editing the film.

The requirement of location is ‘Varanasi’ for KSL Swamee for this film ‘Prabhodha Chandrodayam’. It is not possible to go to that spot due to budget constraints. I am recreating 1000 years Varanasi in the age old theatre pattern the narration will flow.

I am not able to meet the complete 100 lakhs for this 100 minutes film. I have the support of 10 to 12 persons. But one persona has stood behind me to make this via our trust Sanathana Dharma Vardhini. I am now interested in making this in Kannada that requires additional Rs.25 lakhs disclosed Swamee in traditional attire sitting at the Shankar Mutt on Sunday afternoon. Everything is ready but ‘Artha Shastra’ not permitting me. It will be a ‘Shuddha Kannada’ cinema too inform Swamee.

The Sugunas like Viveka, Shasnthi, Upanishad, Karuna, Shraddha and others are represented by children. 80 children have got specially trained under AN Vijayendra Rao for this film purpose. Durgunas are represented by the elderly persons.

At the backwater of Sharavathi in Kodachadri a set will be made that looks 1000 years old. I want the rain to stop to shoot there says Swamee.

I am not approaching any channels for this purpose. When they know that I am doing this kind of film in Sanskrit they should come to me and I am not going to beg them. That is not my nature. ‘Avara Sahavasa Nanage Beda, Namma Sahavasa Avaru Bekadre Madali’. For knowing the history of 50 years of Kannada cinema they make use. Why can’t they come forward? I agree that I have lived to some extent from small screen says Swamee.

I have two more projects in which ‘Sri Sankara’ is going to get the top priority added Swamee adjusting his Shalya.
